Winners of Titled Tuesday on April 1: Liem Le and Hikaru Nakamura

GM Liem Le and GM Hikaru Nakamura emerged as the winners of Titled Tuesday on April 1, with Nakamura securing victory after finishing second in the early event. The competition saw a total of 675 players participating, with GM Arjun Erigaisi reaching a perfect 7/7 before being defeated by Nakamura in the eighth round.

Both Le and Nakamura improved to 7.5 points in the eighth round, along with other top players like GMs Parham Maghsoodloo and Aleksandr Shimanov. In the final rounds, Le managed to secure the tournament lead with a convincing win over GM S. L. Narayanan, while Nakamura broke his mini draw streak by defeating GM Daniel Dardha.

Ultimately, Le and Nakamura claimed first and second place without the need for tiebreaks. Other notable players who tied for third place included GM Harikrishna Pentala, GM Parham Maghsoodloo, and GM Amin Tabatabaei.

In the late tournament, Nakamura continued his winning streak with a perfect 9/9 start, ultimately securing first place despite a slight stumble towards the end. GM Shant Sargsyan and GM Denis Lazavik also put up strong performances in the late event.

With their victories, Nakamura and Le solidified their positions in the Titled Tuesday Grand Prix standings, with Nakamura maintaining his lead and Lazavik moving up to second place.

The Titled Tuesday tournaments continue to attract a growing number of participants, with the promise of doubled prize pools for events with over 1,000 players. The next Titled Tuesday with over 1,000 participants will see prizes awarded to the top 30 players, adding even more excitement to the competitive chess scene.
