Urgent Recall: Kluster Fun Tabletop Magnet Chess Games Pose Serious Injury Risk to Children
Ohio Company Recalls 151,600 Kluster Fun Tabletop Magnet Chess Games Over Serious Injury Risk
In a significant safety alert, Stoney Games, LLC, based in Bexley, Ohio, has recalled approximately 151,600 Kluster Fun Tabletop Magnet Chess Games due to a serious risk of injury, particularly for children. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a recall notice on March 12, highlighting the potential dangers posed by loose high-powered magnets included in the game.
The CPSC warns that if swallowed, these magnets can attract each other or other metal objects, leading to severe health risks such as intestinal blockages, punctures, and even blood poisoning. Although there have been no reported injuries linked to the product, the risks associated with magnet ingestion are well-documented and can be life-threatening.
The recalled chess games feature 24 small, loose magnets, each measuring between 0.5 to one inch wide and 0.3 to 0.4 inches high. They are packaged in a black box prominently displaying the word “Kluster.” The set includes an orange string, an instruction manual, and a black storage pouch, all marked with the “Kluster” branding.
These games were sold at independent game retailers nationwide, as well as online through platforms like Klustermagnets.com, Amazon, and Etsy, between October 2018 and September 2025, with prices ranging from $15 to $20.
What Should Consumers Do?
Consumers who own the Kluster Fun Tabletop Magnet Chess Games are urged to stop using the product immediately and keep it away from children. Stoney Games has provided instructions for safely disposing of the recalled magnets and offers replacement magnets that do not pose a choking hazard.
