Winners of Titled Tuesday Blitz on April 15, 2025: Bogdan Daniel Deac and Magnus Carlsen

GM Bogdan Daniel Deac and GM Magnus Carlsen emerged as the champions of the Titled Tuesday tournament on April 15. Both players scored 10 points in the event, with Deac ultimately edging out GM Anton Korobov in tiebreaks to secure first place. This victory marked Carlsen’s second consecutive late tournament win, following his flawless performance the previous week.

In the early tournament, Deac and Korobov dominated the field, both starting with a perfect 7/7 score. They remained tied after eight rounds, with Deac eventually pulling ahead in the 10th round. Despite Korobov’s strong performance, he couldn’t secure the top spot due to tiebreaks.

In the late tournament, Carlsen started with a perfect 7/7 score as well, eventually finishing with 10 points. He faced tough competition from players like Duda and Nakamura, but managed to secure the victory with a win over Renato Terry in the final round.

With these impressive performances, Carlsen now holds a significant lead in the Titled Tuesday Grand Prix standings. The tournament continues to attract top players, with a record number of registrations in recent weeks.

Titled Tuesday is a weekly tournament on Chess.com for titled players, with two tournaments held each Tuesday. The next Titled Tuesday with over 1,000 participants will feature a doubled prize pool, encouraging even more top players to compete.
