Discover YouTube Playables: A New Way to Game on YouTube

Britons are known for spending countless hours on YouTube, watching everything from viral stunts to gadget reviews. But now, there’s a new way to procrastinate on the platform – playing video games.

Google has introduced YouTube Playables, a collection of around 75 games ranging from classic titles like Chess and Solitaire to popular mobile games like Angry Birds. These games can be accessed through YouTube’s mobile apps and website, making it easy for users to start gaming right away.

To play YouTube Playables, simply open the YouTube app on your iPhone or Android device and navigate to the ‘explore’ section. From there, select ‘playables’ to access a variety of games. If you’re on the web, click the menu icon next to the YouTube logo and scroll down until you see Playables.

Once you’ve chosen a game, it should load quickly, allowing you to use touchscreen controls on mobile or your mouse/trackpad on computers to play. The games are designed to be played in short bursts, perfect for a quick gaming session on the go.

With titles like Angry Birds Showdown, Basketball FRVR, and Cut the Rope, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. And since the games are built using standard web languages, they can run on various devices and operating systems without the need for downloads or installations.

Google first started testing YouTube Playables last summer, as part of their larger gaming project GameSnacks. This new feature adds another layer of entertainment to the platform, giving users even more reasons to spend time on YouTube. So next time you find yourself scrolling through endless prank videos, why not take a break and try out a game instead?
