“RTA completes maintenance and development works on two arterial bridges in Sharjah”

The Roads and Transport Authority in Sharjah has completed the maintenance and development works of two major bridges on the Al Ittihad and Arabian Gulf squares, costing Dh2.7 million. The bridges were opened for full capacity traffic on Sunday morning, providing a significant boost to traffic flow and transport in the area.

According to official sources, the maintenance and development works included fortifying the hinges of the bridges, as well as repairing and repainting damaged parts such as concrete pillars, bases, and supporting walls. The works were carried out during the early hours of the morning with only partial lane closures.

The RTA Sharjah is also continuing regular maintenance works on all bridges in the emirate to enhance public safety and security. These efforts are in line with the overall plan to improve transportation infrastructure in Sharjah, with new advanced bridges and roads being built across the emirate.

Drivers are urged to cooperate and observe sign boards during maintenance works, with the RTA Sharjah’s call center available 24/7 for any comments, feedback, or complaints. The completion of these maintenance works is a step towards easing traffic flow and ensuring the safety of all road users in Sharjah.
