Call for Nominations: 2025 US Chess Executive Board Election
The US Chess Federation (US Chess) is gearing up for its 2025 Executive Board Election, and the call for nominations has officially begun. This election will determine the four at-large positions on the Executive Board, with the top four vote-getters securing a four-year term expiring in 2029.
Any current US Chess member who is not a current employee or designated contractor of US Chess is eligible to be nominated for a position on the Executive Board. Nominations must be made by submitting a petition with the signatures of 50 or more US Chess members who are registered or eligible to register to vote, along with a $100 filing fee.
The nomination petition must include at least 15 US Chess delegates from at least five states, and must be postmarked by December 31, 2024. Petitions can be sent by mail to the US Chess Federation in St. Louis, MO, or submitted electronically.
Candidates must consent to be on the ballot by signing their own nomination petition or by separate notice to US Chess. Voting members for this election must be current US Chess members with memberships expiring on or after June 30, 2025, and who will be at least 16 years old by that date. The election will be conducted by electronic ballot, with voting instructions being sent out in June and ballots being counted in July.
This is a crucial opportunity for US Chess members to have a say in the leadership of the organization, so be sure to get involved in the nomination process and exercise your right to vote in the upcoming election.
