A shocking incident has come to light in Pune, where a woman photographer was allegedly raped and physically assaulted by a man she met on a chess app. The man, who claimed to be from Ahmedabad, had promised to marry her but instead, he subjected her to a horrific ordeal.
According to the police, the woman in her mid-twenties filed a complaint stating that she had met the man on a chess app in November 2022. They started chatting on the app’s messenger section, and he later messaged her claiming to have been in an accident. He even sent her photos of his injuries and medicines.
As their conversations progressed, the man promised to marry her and revealed his true identity as a resident of Ahmedabad. He then claimed to have suffered a stroke and insisted on meeting her in person. They eventually met at a shopping mall in Pune, after which he took her to his rented accommodation and allegedly raped her.
The woman confronted the man about his marriage promise, after which he allegedly made her drink boiling water, leading to her hospitalization. Despite promising to bring his mother and documents from home, the man disappeared and blocked her on all communication platforms.
