Share Your Chess Story with US Chess Federation

The US Chess Federation is calling on all chess enthusiasts to share their stories as part of the US Chess Oral History Project. This project aims to collect and preserve the personal experiences of individuals whose lives have been impacted by chess.

With a rich history spanning 85 years, the US Chess Federation is eager to hear from members about their unique chess journeys. Whether you started playing during the Fischer boom, had a special coach who influenced your life, or even met your spouse through chess, your story is valuable and worth sharing.

Partnering with Publishing Concepts (PCI), a reputable company with over 100 years of experience in publishing directories, US Chess is committed to creating a beautiful book and digital archive that celebrates the profound impact of chess on individuals’ lives.

Participation in the US Chess Oral History Project is entirely voluntary, and there is no obligation to make any purchases. However, those who choose to purchase the US Chess Oral History Book will ensure that their story is included in the publication. Additionally, US Chess will receive a $10 royalty per order, further supporting the organization’s mission.

Starting June 17, individuals can call the dedicated US Chess Update Line at 877.488.3840 to speak with a PCI representative and share their story. Whether it’s about a memorable game, a lifelong friendship formed through chess, or a career in the chess world, all stories are welcome.

If you have any questions or would like more information about the project, you can contact Senior Director of Strategic Communication Dan Lucas. Don’t miss this opportunity to be a part of the US Chess Oral History Project and contribute to the rich tapestry of chess history.
