GM Salem A.R. Saleh Wins Arab Blitz Chess Championship

GM Salem A.R. Saleh of the UAE emerged victorious in the Arab Blitz Chess Championship held at the Mariott Hotel in Dubai. The talented player scored an impressive six points out of seven rounds, outshining 25 other players from 13 countries. Despite a setback in the penultimate round against GM Bilel Bellahcene of Algeria, Saleh bounced back in the final round to secure the top spot.

In the Arab Women’s Blitz Championship, WIM Sabrina Latreche of Algeria showcased her skills and claimed the first-place title with six points out of seven rounds. The event saw 22 players from 10 countries competing fiercely for the coveted title.

The tournament, organized by the UAE Chess Federation under the patronage of Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, was a display of exceptional talent and strategic gameplay. The standard chess tournament is set to continue daily at the Dubai Chess Club.

Dignitaries including Sheikh Saud Al Muala, president of the Arab Chess Federation, and Dr. Sarhan Al Muaini, President of the UAE Chess Federation, were present to honor the winners during the prize distribution ceremony.

Chess enthusiasts and supporters are eagerly looking forward to witnessing more thrilling matches and impressive performances in the upcoming rounds of the championship.
