Exciting Programs and Events at Sanibel Public Library

The Sanibel Public Library is offering a variety of engaging programs and events for both adults and children in the upcoming weeks. Despite the closure due to Hurricane Milton, the library is gearing up for a virtual author talk on Oct. 9 with Silvia Moreno-Garcia, a New York Times bestseller and award-winning author. Moreno-Garcia will discuss Latin American genre fiction, her writing process, and her new novel, “The Seventh Veil of Salome.”

In addition to the author talk, the library has scheduled programs such as Crafternoon, LEGO Club, Family Storytime, Chess Open-Play, and more. Participants can engage in activities like creating fall crafts, learning about 3D printing, and exploring the science of slime. The library will also serve as a drop-off location for F.I.S.H of Sanibel-Captiva’s Thanksgiving Food Drive, where donors can enter a raffle for a “Make-Your-Own” Book Bundle.

For those interested in attending the programs or events, registration information can be found on the library’s website. Library cards are available to residents of Sanibel and Lee County at no charge, with visitor library cards available for a $10 annual fee. The library is open on Mondays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

For more information on the upcoming programs and events at the Sanibel Public Library, visit their website or call 239-472-2483. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to engage in fun and educational activities at the library!
