Exciting News for Chess Fans: Nihal Sarin and Raunak Sadhwani to Feature in Global Chess League Season 2

The Global Chess League is set to kick off its second season with a bang, as India’s top young players Nihal Sarin and Raunak Sadhwani gear up to showcase their skills on the global stage. The tournament, scheduled to be held from October 3-12 at Friends House in London, promises to be a thrilling event for chess enthusiasts worldwide.

The league, a joint venture between FIDE and Tech Mahindra, features a unique franchise-based format with six teams, each consisting of top players from around the world. Nihal Sarin and Raunak Sadhwani will be among the Prodigy players included in the lineup, adding to the excitement of the competition.

Raunak Sadhwani, who earned the Grandmaster title at just 13 years old, will be making his comeback in the second season, alongside other talented players such as Javokhir Sindarov, Jonas Buhl Bjerre, and more. The tournament will see teams compete in a double round-robin format, with each match decided in a best-of-six board scoring system.

Excitement is building among players and fans alike, with Sadhwani expressing his thrill at being back for the second season. Javokhir Sindarov also shared his excitement, highlighting the fantastic experience of the inaugural season and looking forward to the upcoming matches in London.

CEO of Global Chess League, Sameer Pathak, expressed his excitement at the lineup of prodigy players for the second season, noting the unique platform the league provides for both veteran players and young talents to come together and compete. The league aims to showcase the best of chess talent from around the world, with male and female champions competing in joint teams in a groundbreaking format.
