Freestyle Chess Grand Slam Paris Qualifiers Registration and Details

The excitement is building as the second Freestyle Chess Grand Slam Tour event is set to take place in Paris from April 7 to 14. Chess.com has announced a partnership with Freestyle Chess, offering a qualification path for any of its members to participate in the upcoming event. The Qualifiers for the Freestyle Chess Grand Slam Paris are set to take place this weekend, and all players who meet the criteria are invited to join in on the action.

To be eligible for the Qualifiers, players must have an account that is at least 90 days old, have played a minimum of 50 rated rapid games on Chess.com, and must not be a titled player. Interested participants must fill out the registration form by the deadline on Friday, March 7, at 11 a.m. ET. Only players who meet the criteria will be added to the Play-in Club, where all players must have their real names listed in their profiles.

The Qualifiers will take place on March 8 and 9, with specific times listed for different time zones. The format of the Qualifiers will be a nine-round Swiss tournament, with games at a 10+2 time control. The top three players from each Open Qualifier will be eligible to participate in the corresponding Swiss Stage.

Titled players are pre-qualified into the Swiss Stage and are ineligible to participate in the Open Qualifiers. For more details on the event rules and regulations, players can refer to the official rulebook provided on the Chess.com website.
