Registration Open for FIDE World Cadet Chess Championships 2024 in Montesilvano, Italy – Deadline September 13!

Registration is now open for the FIDE World Cadet Chess Championships 2024, set to take place in Montesilvano, Italy from November 14-27. The event, organized by FIDE and the Italian Chess Federation, promises to be a thrilling competition for young chess enthusiasts.

US Chess is currently accepting registrations for eligible U.S. participants until September 13. The tournament will feature six sections, including Open and Girls categories in age groups Under 12, Under 10, and Under 8. Players’ eligibility for each section is determined by their age as of January 1, 2024.

The tournament will follow an 11-round Swiss System format with specific time controls. Direct titles will be awarded according to FIDE regulations, and players must be punctual as lateness may result in forfeiting the game.

Interested U.S. players must register with US Chess by the September 13 deadline. Various fees apply, including tournament registration, FIDE entry, and administrative fees. Accommodations must be booked through US Chess at official hotels, with meal options included in the rates.

US Chess is also offering coaching services for players who opt-in for an additional fee. Travel waivers and official representatives have been announced, adding to the excitement of the upcoming championships.
