South Africa Stick to Starting Lineup Despite Les Bleus Manager’s Doubts

The upcoming clash between France and South Africa in Paris on Sunday has been shrouded in uncertainty after Les Bleus team manager Ibanez raised doubts about the Springboks’ starting lineup. Ibanez had alleged earlier in the day that the holders could field a different team than the one they have named for the game.

In a surprising move, the Springboks announced that Cobus Reinach and Manie Libbok would start the game over experienced half-backs Faf de Klerk and Handre Pollard. This decision raised eyebrows among many, as De Klerk and Pollard have a combined 118 Test appearances compared to Reinach and Libbok’s 21 internationals.

Despite the lack of experience at half-back, South Africa’s head coach Jacques Nienaber and his staff have selected Eben Etzebeth and Franco Mostert at lock, who were instrumental in their 2019 World Cup win. This selection sets the stage for a tough battle against France’s lock Cameron Woki, who is expecting a physical challenge from the Springboks’ second-row.

The uncertainty surrounding the Springboks’ lineup has added an extra layer of intrigue to the highly anticipated match. With both teams looking to make a statement, fans can expect a thrilling encounter in Paris on Sunday. Stay tuned for more updates as the game approaches.
