Tan’s exceptional play throughout the tournament saw her clinch the $50,000 first prize with a solid 6/9 score.
Tan’s victory was practically sealed after her impressive seventh-round win over GM Elisabeth Paehtz, leaving her only needing a draw in the final round against GM Alexandra Kosteniuk to secure the top spot. With her consistent performance, Tan proved to be a force to be reckoned with in the competition.
