Chess.com’s Bullet Brawl event on Saturday saw GM Andrew Tang make history by winning his third title in 2025, joining the ranks of GM Hikaru Nakamura and Daniel Naroditsky. Tang’s impressive performance included a 29-game winning streak and a total score of 258 points, ahead of Nakamura and GM Yagiz Erdogmus.

WGM Aleksandra Maltsevskaya also shined, winning the $100 best women’s prize, while Cesar Frank Talledo Lagos showcased his skills with 78 wins and only six losses.

The next edition of Bullet Brawl is set to kick off on Saturday, March 15, at noon ET/18:00 CEST.

Tang’s victory was hard-earned, facing tough competition from top FIDE-rated players like Nakamura, Arjun Erigaisi, and Alireza Firouzja. Despite a modest start, Tang quickly established himself as a frontrunner with his signature Gibbings-Weidenhagen Gambit and a blistering 29-game winning streak.

Nakamura, a 37-time winner, made a late surge with a 15-game win streak, showcasing his formidable skills and stopping many aspiring titlists in their tracks.

With seven titles under his belt, Tang is quickly climbing the ranks on the all-time leaderboard, closing in on Bortnyk’s record. Bullet Brawl continues to be a thrilling event for chess enthusiasts, featuring top GMs and a $1,000 prize fund.
