Exciting Announcement: 2025 Champions Chess Tour Kicks Off with Chessable Masters!

The 2025 Champions Chess Tour is set to kick off with the Chessable Masters, an online event featuring a $150,000 prize fund. This year, players will have only two opportunities to earn points and secure a spot in the top-12 of the CCT Leaderboard for a chance to compete in the Esports World Cup with a massive $1,500,000 prize fund.

One of the exciting changes in this year’s tour is the faster 10+0 time control, promising more time-trouble drama and swindles for fans to enjoy. The events are open to all titled players, with qualifiers leading to the Play-Ins, where the top eight players will advance to the Playoffs alongside eight invited players.

Among the confirmed participants for the Chessable Masters are five-time Tour Champion Magnus Carlsen and world number-three Hikaru Nakamura. Will Nakamura be the one to dethrone Carlsen this year? Other notable players include Ian Nepomniachtchi and Wesley So.
