Chess enthusiasts around the world were left in awe as Joran Aulin-Jansson, also known as ‘JJ,’ played an incredible 701 blitz games for a staggering 92 hours and 26 minutes straight. This feat, which took place 40 years ago in Skien, Norway, remains unmatched in the world of chess marathons.

Aulin-Jansson, a well-known chess organizer and former president of the Norwegian Chess Federation, pushed himself to the limit in pursuit of breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest chess marathon. Despite facing intense tiredness, hallucinations, and even a visit from a badger, he persevered through the grueling challenge.
