Get ready for an exciting twist in the world of chess as hawks and elephants make their debut on the chessboard in the upcoming Chess.com Seirawan Chess Championship. Created by legendary GM Yasser Seirawan, this chess variant introduces two new powerful pieces to the game – the hawk and the elephant.

The championship, scheduled for November 7 and 8, features a $2,000 prize fund and promises intense competition among players. The event kicks off with eight qualifiers, each lasting 75 minutes in the 3+2 time control format.

To participate in the qualifiers, players must join the official Chess.com Community Club and register for the arenas one hour before they begin. Fair play checks will be conducted through video calls, ensuring a safe and competitive environment for all participants.

The winners of each qualifier will advance to the Final, an eight-player double-elimination knockout bracket where only the most strategic and tactical player will emerge victorious. Even those who don’t make it to the Final can still enjoy the action by tuning in to the live broadcast on the Community Twitch channel.
