Former Bihar Minister Shyam Rajak Quits RJD, Yet to Decide on Joining Another Party
Former Bihar minister Shyam Rajak has announced his decision to quit the Rashtriya Janata Dal, claiming he felt “cheated” by the party. Rajak, a prominent Dalit leader, had switched over to the RJD from Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United) in 2020. In a cryptic post on social media, he shared a letter he wrote to party President Lalu Yadav, expressing his disappointment.
“I was in the RJD and the people at the party were playing games. That is why I wrote in my resignation letter that they were playing games while I was carrying on the relations. I don’t know anything else except self-respect, honor, and vision to work,” Rajak told ANI. He also mentioned that he has not made any decision about joining any other party.
RJD spokesperson Shakti Yadav criticized Rajak, calling him a “party hopper” and accusing him of liking to play games. However, Rajak praised Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, saying he still believes Kumar is a man with vision who allows his peers to work freely.
Rajak’s decision to quit the RJD comes after he was reportedly upset over not being considered for a berth in the legislative council. He has hinted that he will reveal his future plans in a week. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
