Incidents and Arrests Handled by Broward County Sheriff’s Office in Parkland – December 31, 2024 to January 6, 2025
The Broward County Sheriff’s Office in Parkland had a busy week responding to various incidents and making arrests between December 31, 2024, and January 6, 2025. From a gun buyback program to a domestic battery arrest, local law enforcement was kept on their toes.
On December 31, an adult male participated in the gun buyback program by surrendering two firearms at the BSO Parkland District Office. Additionally, deputies responded to a juvenile male who met Baker Act requirements and was transported to a hospital. A burglary was also reported at a residence on the same day.
Moving into the new year, on January 1, a reckless driving incident involving a black Dodge Ram truck and a fraud incident with unauthorized check fraud were reported. On January 2, an adult female reported identity misuse related to an American Express Business account.
Auto theft, property damage, and a domestic battery arrest were among the incidents on January 3 and 4. A suspicious activity report on January 5 involved masked individuals approaching a vehicle but fleeing upon being noticed by the homeowner. Finally, on January 6, a man reported an unresolved transaction dispute involving the purchase of a French Bulldog.
One arrest was made during this time period for domestic battery, with Maria Luiza Guzman, 41, being taken into custody on January 4.
