Despite his remarkable performance, GM Anish Giri managed to build an impenetrable fortress, forcing a draw and preventing Sindarov from achieving yet another victory.

As the tournament progresses, GM Fabiano Caruana trails Sindarov by 1.5 points after a hard-fought draw against GM Praggnanandhaa Rameshbabu. Meanwhile, the match between GM Matthias Bluebaum and GM Hikaru Nakamura also ended in a stalemate. The only decisive result of the day came from GM Wei Yi, who secured a stylish victory over GM Andrey Esipenko.

Women’s Candidates: Anna Muzychuk Maintains Lead

In the Women’s Candidates Tournament, GM Anna Muzychuk remains the sole leader after a draw against GM Bibisara Assaubayeva. However, GM Vaishali Rameshbabu is hot on her heels, closing the gap to just half a point following a critical win against GM Tan Zhongyi, who made a costly blunder.

In a marathon match, GM Divya Deshmukh let GM Kateryna Lagno escape after 135 grueling moves, while GM Aleksandra Goryachkina ended the first half with a series of seven draws, including a stalemate against GM Zhu Jiner.
