Celebrating International Women’s Day: Inspiring Women Take Over PM Modi’s Social Media Handle

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, six inspiring women took over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s social media handle to share their remarkable journeys and experiences with the nation. These exceptional women, coming from different backgrounds and states, presented their life experiences in separate posts on the platform. Additionally, two out of the six women shared their journeys in a joint post.

Vaishali Rameshbabu, a chess prodigy from Chennai, Tamil Nadu, shared her pride in representing India in chess tournaments and achieving the title of Chess Grandmaster in 2023. Elina Mishra, a nuclear scientist at Mumbai’s Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, and Shilpi Soni, a space scientist at ISRO, emphasized the opportunities for women in science and technology in India.

Ajaita Shah, Founder and CEO of Frontier Markets, highlighted her efforts in empowering rural women by providing access to financial resources and infrastructure. Anita Devi from Nalanda, Bihar, shared her journey of becoming self-employed and establishing a successful farmers producer company. Dr. Anjlee Agarwal, founder of Samarthyam, discussed her work on universal accessibility and inclusive mobility.

These women’s stories serve as a testament to the resilience, determination, and achievements of women in various fields across India. Their takeover of the Prime Minister’s social media handle on Women’s Day was a powerful reminder of the importance of gender equality and women empowerment in the country.
