In a thrilling match in the Global Chess League, Alireza Firouzja led the Triveni Continental Kings to victory over the American Gambits. The highlight of the match was Firouzja’s defeat of world No 2 Hikaru Nakamura, who struggled right from the start and eventually had to resign.

In addition to Firouzja’s impressive performance, Wei Yi defeated Jan-Krzysztof Duda and Alexandra Kosteniuk pulled off a remarkable win in a lost position against Bibisara Assaubayeva. Alpine Pipers also secured a victory over Mumba Masters, with GM Richard Rapport delivering a crucial win against Peter Svidler.

Alpine Pipers moved to the third spot in the league with a total of six points, while Mumba Masters remained in the same position. The match showcased some intense competition and strategic gameplay, keeping fans on the edge of their seats until the very end.
