Tawanchai PK Saenchai’s Rise to Dominance: From Teep Kicks to Interim Featherweight Kickboxing Gold

ONE featherweight Muay Thai world champion Tawanchai PK Saenchai’s journey to becoming a dominant force in the sport has been nothing short of impressive. Fans witnessed a significant shift in his performance when he faced off against reigning champion Petchmorakot Petchyindee in September 2022.

In a recent breakdown video shared by the world’s largest martial arts promotion on Instagram, Tawanchai’s strategic use of teep kicks to unsettle his opponent was highlighted. This tactical approach allowed him to take control of the fight and ultimately secure a unanimous decision victory over Petchmorakot.

The video emphasized that it was not just the teep kick itself that led to Tawanchai’s success, but the setup and execution of the move that continuously caught Petchmorakot off guard. Fans took to the comments section to praise Tawanchai’s technical prowess, with many calling it a “high-level chess” match and comparing him to the legendary Samart.

Following his impressive win over Petchmorakot, Tawanchai further showcased his skills by securing a second-round TKO victory over ONE featherweight kickboxing champion Superbon at ONE 170 in January. This win came after Tawanchai faced criticism for his previous majority decision victory against Superbon in December 2023.

Looking ahead, Tawanchai is set to compete for the interim featherweight kickboxing title at ONE 172 on March 23. He will face off against Japanese standout Masaaki Noiri, who recently scored a second-round knockout victory at ONE 170. The event will take place at the Saitama Super Arena in Japan, with tickets available for purchase via EPlus.

Tawanchai’s journey to becoming a two-sport ONE world champion is one that fans are eagerly anticipating, as he continues to prove himself as a force to be reckoned with in the world of Muay Thai and kickboxing.
