Devansh and Aditri Shine in Under-13 Chess Selection Championship in Kanpur
Kanpur witnessed a thrilling display of talent as Devansh and Aditri emerged as champions in the under-13 chess selection championship held at Vedic Dharma Sabha Hall. Devansh, representing VS School, dominated the boys’ group with a flawless performance, securing five points in five rounds. Vinayak Tripathi of VSEC Kidwai Nagar secured the second position with four points, while Shresth Srivastava and Jayant Gupta claimed the third and fourth spots with 3.5 points each.
In the girls’ category, Aditri of VS Kalyanpur School clinched the title with 3 points, edging out Kashvi Gupta of Sir Padampat Singhania School based on better progressive points. Awani Singh of Chintels Ratanlal Nagar secured the third position with 2 points. The winners were felicitated with certificates by senior chess player Bal Govind Awasthi.
Dilip Srivastava, secretary of Kanpur Chess Association, announced that Devansh, Vinayak Tripathi, Aditri, and Kashvi Gupta will represent Kanpur in the upcoming state under-13 chess championship in Bijnor on June 7. The association will cover the travel and entry expenses for the team members.
