The Chess world is buzzing with excitement as GM-elect Yagiz Erdogmus continues his winning streak, securing a spot in the knockout Finals of the Under 16 ChessKid Youth Championship. Just a week ago, Erdogmus emerged victorious in the Under 13 Championship, showcasing his exceptional skills on the board.

Joining Erdogmus in the knockout stages are GMs Abhimanyu Mishra, Ivan Zemlyanskii, and Andy Woodward, all of whom topped their respective groups with impressive performances. Despite his young age, 10-year-old IM-elect Faustino Oro displayed great potential but fell short against his older rivals.

The knockout rounds are set to begin on July 7, with the action kicking off at 11 a.m. ET. The competition promises to be intense as these young chess prodigies battle it out for the coveted title.

In Group A, Erdogmus once again proved his dominance, finishing at the top with a perfect score of 5/5. His thrilling victory over Zemlyanskii showcased his tactical prowess and fighting spirit.
