Matfey Rogov Wins Atomic Chess Championship in Sibling Rivalry Showdown

CM Matfey Rogov emerged victorious in the Atomic Chess Championship of the Variants Community Series (VCS) on Thursday, defeating his older brother, Timofey Rogov, in a sibling rivalry-fueled Final. The tournament saw Matfey also overcoming the top seed, GM Awonder Liang, on his path to glory.

The explosive captures and fast-paced action of Atomic chess provided the perfect backdrop for the Rogov brothers to showcase their skills and dominate the competition. The Final standings of the tournament saw Matfey taking home the first-place prize of $1,000, with Timofey securing the second-place prize of $750. GM Awonder Liang finished in third place, earning $500 for his efforts.
