Andrew Tang Claims 15th Bullet Brawl Title in Spectacular Fashion

Chess.com Arena, February 28, 2026 — Grandmaster Andrew Tang, known for his lightning-fast play and strategic prowess, clinched his 15th career Bullet Brawl title on Saturday, delivering one of the most impressive performances in recent memory. Facing fierce competition from fellow GMs Arjun Erigaisi and Nihal Sarin, Tang showcased his skills with a remarkable 17-game winning streak, ultimately finishing with a commanding score of 174 points.

The Bullet Brawl, a thrilling two-hour arena featuring Chess.com’s elite bullet specialists, attracted 155 titled players, including eight former champions. Tang’s victory not only solidified his status as a top contender but also propelled him back into third place on the all-time leaderboard.

Tang’s path to victory was anything but easy. The competition was fierce, with Erigaisi and Sarin both vying for the top spot. However, Tang’s extraordinary performance allowed him to outpace Erigaisi by three points and Sarin by a staggering 13 points. The prize pool of $1,000 was distributed among the top players, with Tang taking home $400, while Erigaisi and Sarin earned $250 and $150, respectively. GM Jose Martinez and FM Anastasia Avramidou also received $100 each for their fourth-place finish and for being the top female player.

The tournament kicked off with a flurry of excitement as players raced against the clock in a 1+0 time control format. Vietnamese content creator Tuan Minh Le made a strong start, racking up 17 wins and two draws in the first half-hour. However, it was Tang’s relentless streak that stole the show, as he dispatched high-profile opponents, including Erigaisi and Sarin, with remarkable efficiency.

One of the standout moments of the tournament came during Tang’s intense 114-move battle against GM Oleksandr Bortnyk. The match showcased Tang’s defensive skills and theoretical knowledge, culminating in a hard-fought victory that further solidified his dominance in the arena.

As the dust settled, Tang’s impressive performance not only earned him the title but also highlighted his status as the reigning Chess.com hyperbullet champion. With this latest victory, he has now secured his place among the all-time greats in Bullet Brawl history.

Looking ahead, chess enthusiasts can mark their calendars for the next edition of Bullet Brawl, set to commence on Saturday, March 7, at 12 p.m. ET/18:00 CET. As the competition continues to heat up, fans eagerly await the next showdown among the world’s best bullet players.
