Urgent Recall: Kluster Fun Tabletop Magnet Chess Games Pose Serious Injury Risk to Children
Recall Alert: Kluster Fun Tabletop Magnet Chess Games Pose Serious Injury Risk
In a significant safety recall, Stoney Games, LLC, based in Bexley, Ohio, has announced the recall of approximately 151,600 Kluster Fun Tabletop Magnet Chess Games due to a severe risk of injury. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a warning on March 12, highlighting the dangers posed by loose high-powered magnets within the games.
The CPSC’s recall letter detailed the potential hazards associated with these magnets, which can be ingested by children. If swallowed, the magnets may attract each other or other metal objects, leading to serious health complications such as intestinal blockages, punctures, blood poisoning, and even death.
Fortunately, there have been no reported injuries linked to the product thus far. However, parents and caregivers are urged to take immediate action to ensure the safety of their children.
The Kluster Fun Tabletop Magnet Chess Games feature 24 small, loose magnets, each measuring between 0.5 to one inch wide and 0.3 to 0.4 inches high. The games are packaged in a black box prominently displaying the word “Kluster” on the front. Each set includes an orange string, an instruction manual, and a black storage pouch with the “Kluster” logo.
These games were sold at independent game shops nationwide and online through platforms such as Klustermagnets.com, Amazon.com, and Etsy.com from October 2018 to September 2025, priced between $15 and $20.
What Should Consumers Do?
If you own a Kluster Fun Tabletop Magnet Chess Game, it is crucial to stop using it immediately. Parents should remove the game from children’s reach and contact Stoney Games for guidance on safely disposing of the recalled magnets. The company is also offering replacement magnets that do not pose the same risk.
