Urgent Recall: Kluster Fun Tabletop Magnet Chess Games Pose Serious Injury Risk to Children

Urgent Recall: Kluster Fun Tabletop Magnet Chess Games Pose Serious Injury Risk

Bexley, Ohio – In a significant safety alert, Stoney Games, LLC has recalled approximately 151,600 Kluster Fun Tabletop Magnet Chess Games due to a serious risk of injury, particularly for children. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a warning on March 12, highlighting the dangers associated with loose high-powered magnets that could be ingested.

The recall stems from concerns that if these magnets are swallowed, they can attract each other or other metal objects within the digestive system. This can lead to severe complications, including intestinal blockages, punctures, blood poisoning, and even death. Fortunately, there have been no reported injuries linked to the product thus far.

The Kluster chess games, sold in a distinctive black box emblazoned with the word “Kluster,” contain 24 magnets, an orange string, an instruction manual, and a black storage pouch. The magnets measure between 0.5 to one inch wide and 0.3 to 0.4 inches high, making them a potential hazard for young children.

These games were available at independent game shops nationwide and online through platforms like Amazon and Etsy from October 2018 to September 2025, retailing for between $15 and $20.

What Should Consumers Do?

If you own a Kluster Fun Tabletop Magnet Chess Game, the CPSC advises you to stop using it immediately. Parents and guardians should remove the game from children’s access and contact Stoney Games for guidance on disposing of the recalled magnets. The company is also offering replacement magnets that do not pose a choking hazard.

For further information and instructions, consumers can refer to the CPSC’s official recall notice here.

As safety remains a top priority, it’s crucial for consumers to stay informed about product recalls to protect their families from potential hazards.
