Follow Us Early Access Update: Development on Hold Amidst Sales Challenges

Follow Us Early Access Roadmap Currently on Hold Amid Development Challenges

In a bittersweet announcement, Game Atelier has rolled out the first major Early Access update for its asymmetrical horror game, Follow Us, while simultaneously revealing that active development will be paused due to disappointing sales figures.

The highlight of this update is a complete overhaul of Level 2, titled “A Night with DJ Susan.” Responding to player feedback that deemed the original stage less engaging and frightening, the developers have rebuilt the level from the ground up, now offering a more immersive experience for players.

In addition to the revamped level, the update introduces several highly requested quality-of-life improvements. Players can now enjoy full controller support, compatibility with the Steam Deck, and a new character selection feature that allows for skin-switching. These enhancements aim to improve accessibility and elevate the overall gameplay experience.

Despite these advancements, Game Atelier has announced that it can no longer sustain an active development team for Follow Us. The studio, which has been self-funding the project—including development, localization, marketing, and public relations—has struggled to reach a broad enough audience to justify continued production.

While new content is on hold, players can still enjoy the existing game, and the developers will continue to monitor feedback and address bugs as they arise. The team remains hopeful that they may return to the project if circumstances improve.

As the future of Follow Us hangs in the balance, this update not only enhances the player experience but also underscores the developers’ commitment to their community, even in the face of significant challenges.
