Garmin Releases Stable Update for Fenix 8 and Other Smartwatches: System Software 21.39 Now Available

Garmin Rolls Out Stable Update for Fenix 8 and Other Smartwatches

Garmin has officially launched a new stable update for its popular Fenix 8 series and associated smartwatches, including the Enduro 3, Fenix E, and Quatix 8. This update, designated as System Software 21.39, comes on the heels of a beta version released earlier this week, which had already garnered attention for its promising features.

The latest update replaces the previous System Software 21.25 and introduces a host of improvements aimed at enhancing user experience. While the earlier beta version focused on adding over ten new features, the stable release primarily addresses outstanding bugs and performance issues.

Among the key fixes in this update is a resolution for a frustrating system crash that users experienced while using Bluetooth headphones. Additionally, the Quatix 8 will now correctly display sports scores, a feature that had been problematic for some users. Other notable fixes include:

  • Resolving crashes during HIIT activities.
  • Ensuring that only one goal alert is shown per day.
  • Fixing the black data screen issue for strength activities on solar devices.
  • Addressing the missing sports scores glance on the Quatix 8 series.
  • Improving course planner performance and updating translations.

Currently, the update is rolling out to approximately 50% of users, with plans for broader availability in the coming weeks. However, it’s important to note that this update does not yet extend to the Fenix 8 Pro or Quatix 8 Pro models.

For those interested in upgrading their smartwatch experience, the Quatix 8 is available on Amazon for $949. Garmin’s commitment to continuous improvement and user satisfaction is evident in this latest update, ensuring that users can enjoy a seamless and enhanced smartwatch experience.

Stay tuned for more updates as Garmin continues to refine its offerings in the wearable technology space.
