National News: DoT’s NTIPRIT, NICF And WMTDC Merged Into Single Entity

In a significant move, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has merged three of its training institutes – National Telecommunications Institute for Policy Research, Innovation and Training (NTIPRIT), the National Institute of Communication Finance (NICF), and Wireless Monitoring Training & Development Centre (WMTDC) into a single administrative entity. The new entity, named ‘National Communications Academy’ (NCA), has been established with immediate effect.

The decision to merge these institutes into a single entity was approved by the Minister of Communications (MoC) on the recommendation of the Committee for Organisational Reforms. This consolidation aims to streamline training and development efforts within the telecommunications sector and enhance efficiency in policy research and innovation.

This merger is expected to create a more cohesive and integrated approach to training and capacity building in the field of telecommunications. The National Communications Academy will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the telecommunications industry in India by providing specialized training and research opportunities for professionals in the sector.
