Chess enthusiasts and titled players, get ready for an exciting tournament hosted by GM Hikaru Nakamura! The Kick’s Tournament for the Accused, generously sponsored by Kick.com, will take place on Monday, December 9, starting at 12 p.m. ET/18:00 CET.

IMs and GMs will have the opportunity to compete for a share of the $8,500 prize fund across three unique varieties of blitz. Join GMs Daniel Naroditsky and Jose Martinez in this thrilling event where players will participate in a nine-round Swiss qualifier to determine the contestants for three consecutive round-robin tournaments.

The tournament format includes 3+2 blitz, 3+1 blitz, and 3+0 blitz with Live Eval bars that players can see. Final placement will be based on the total rankings in the round robins, with tiebreakers involving accuracy scores and time spent looking away from the screen.

Prizes include up to $3,000 for the 1st place winner, up to $2,000 for 2nd place, up to $1,000 for 3rd place, and up to $500 for 4th-8th place. Players streaming on Kick will be eligible for 100 percent of their prize, while those not streaming on Kick will receive 75 percent.

Don’t miss out on the action! The qualifying Swiss begins at 12 p.m. ET/18:00 CET, followed by the three single round-robin tournaments starting at 1:15 p.m. ET/19:10 CEST. All games will be subject to review by Chess.com’s Fair Play team to ensure a level playing field.
