Indian Grandmaster Aravindh Chithambaram Shines in Prague Masters

Grandmaster Aravindh Chithambaram is making waves in the chess world as he inches closer to winning his first major international tournament at the Prague Masters. In the eighth round of the tournament, Aravindh secured an easy draw against David Navara of the Czech Republic, maintaining his lead with 5.5 points. This puts him half a point ahead of fellow Indian R Praggnanandhaa, who also drew in his match.

After a challenging start with two losses in his first three games, Aravindh has shown resilience and determination to bounce back and take the lead in the tournament. In the final round, he will face Turkey’s Ediz Gurel, while Praggnanandhaa faces a tough challenge against Netherlands’ Anish Giri.

The top-seeded Chinese Grandmaster Wei Yi also made a strong comeback in the tournament, moving into third place with 4.5 points after defeating local favorite Nguyen Thai Dai Van.
