Nine-year-old chess prodigy, Kiyana Parihar, from Udaipur, Rajasthan, has made history by winning the bronze medal at the prestigious FIDE World Blitz Chess Championship 2025 in Rhodes, Greece. Representing MDS Senior Secondary School, Udaipur, Kiyana’s remarkable performance has not only brought pride to her school but also to the entire nation.

Scoring an impressive 9 out of 11 points, Kiyana defeated top players from around the world, including competitors from Poland, Belarus, Romania, Vietnam, Tunisia, and Ukraine. Her strategic brilliance and mental strength were on full display as she secured the bronze medal after a tiebreak with the second-place contender.

The championship, which took place from April 12 to 18, 2025, featured over 430 players from 48 countries in both Rapid and Blitz formats. Kiyana’s success in such a competitive field is a testament to her dedication, discipline, and high-level preparation.

This is not the first time Kiyana has excelled in chess. She has a history of winning medals, including a Silver Medal at the National School Chess Championship (U-7) in 2022, Gold and Silver at the Asian Youth Chess Championship in 2023, and Team Gold at the Asian Youth Chess Championship in 2024, among others.

Looking ahead, Kiyana aims to become the World Champion and continue representing India at international tournaments. Her parents, along with her coach and supporters, are proud of her achievements and believe she will continue to shine in the world of chess.
