Kamptee, Nagpur – In a tragic incident that has sent shockwaves through the local community, a 27-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her husband on Friday evening. The victim, identified as Manju Sandeep Pachare, was reportedly attacked during her walk to the weekly market, following a prolonged marital dispute and her decision to seek separation.
Woman Attacked While Heading to Weekly Market
According to police sources, Manju and her husband, Sandeep Pachare (29), had been married for approximately four years. Their relationship had deteriorated due to frequent arguments, primarily fueled by Sandeep’s drinking habits. Recently, Manju had returned to her parental home in Kamptee, expressing her desire to end the marriage.
On Friday at around 6 PM, as Manju made her way to the bustling Friday market, Sandeep allegedly confronted her in a narrow lane. Witnesses reported that an altercation ensued, during which Sandeep attacked Manju with a knife, inflicting multiple stab wounds.
Knife Attack Creates Panic in Kamptee Market
The brutal attack resulted in grievous injuries, and Manju was pronounced dead at the scene, leaving local residents and traders in a state of shock. The incident unfolded in a crowded area, triggering panic among shoppers and vendors alike. Fortunately, a significant police presence was already in place due to ongoing Moharram observances, allowing authorities to respond swiftly.
Senior police officials, including Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 6) Dr. Sandeep Pakhale, arrived promptly to oversee the investigation. The police conducted a panchnama and sent Manju’s body to the Regional Government Hospital in Kamptee for a post-mortem examination.
Police Register Murder Case, Launch Hunt
In the wake of this tragic event, the Old Kamptee Police Station has registered a murder case against Sandeep Pachare, who is currently on the run. A manhunt has been initiated to apprehend him, and further investigations are ongoing.
