Upcoming Changes to US Chess Membership Pricing Structure

US Chess Announces Revised Membership Pricing Structure Effective Jan. 1, 2025

In a recent announcement, US Chess revealed that they will be implementing revisions to their membership pricing structure starting on Jan. 1, 2025. The changes come as a necessary step to ensure the financial health of the organization and maintain its operations.

Chuck Unruh, the vice president of finance at US Chess, explained the reasoning behind the increase in membership dues. He stated, "Over the last three years, US Chess has been fortunate with more sponsored and endowed events and programs. However, the operational side of the ledger has faced challenges from rising costs in the economy." The updated dues structure is designed to help US Chess sustain its operations, retain staff, and achieve a balance between mission costs and revenues in the coming years.

The revised membership rates will affect various categories of members, including adults, seniors, young adults, youth, and families. For example, the new rates for adult membership will be $54 for one year and $105 for two years, up from the previous rates of $45 and $87, respectively. Similar adjustments have been made to other membership categories to reflect the changing financial landscape.

Members who are due for renewal or have recently lapsed are encouraged to renew their membership before the revised rates take effect. By renewing now, members can lock in the current rates and continue to enjoy the benefits of being part of the US Chess community.

For more information about the changes to the membership pricing structure or to renew your membership, visit the US Chess website at https://new.uschess.org/join-us-chess. You can also reach out to the Membership Department via email for any further questions or clarifications.

Stay tuned for more updates on US Chess and how these revisions will impact the organization and its members in the coming years.
