Winners of Qualifiers 3 and 4 for 2024 Crazyhouse Championship Announced

The 2024 Crazyhouse Championship is heating up as IM Mark Plotkin and NM Janak Awatramani, both from Canada, emerged victorious in Qualifiers 3 and 4, respectively. With half the seats in the Knockout already taken, the competition is fierce as players battle it out for the remaining four spots.

Plotkin’s impressive performance in Qualifier 3, where he won 44 games with six losses, secured him the top spot. Despite FM Roee Aroesti winning one more game, Plotkin’s streak of 22 consecutive wins proved to be the deciding factor. The tournament saw intense battles and strategic gameplay, with only five out of 1,730 games ending in draws.

In Qualifier 4, Awatramani and JetStreamm dominated the field, with Awatramani ultimately clinching the victory in the final minutes of the tournament. His decisive win over JetStreamm in the penultimate game solidified his spot in the Knockout.

As Qualifiers 5 and 6 unfold, the competition is expected to intensify, with players vying for a chance to compete in the final event of the Chess.com Community Championship series. The Crazyhouse Championship features a double-elimination bracket with a prize fund of $7,500, adding to the excitement of the tournament.

Stay tuned for more updates as the remaining spots in the Knockout are filled, and the battle for the championship title heats up.
