Telangana Grandmaster Raja Rithvik shines at Laplagne International chess championship in France, bags silver medal

Hyderabad: Telangana’s very own Grandmaster Raja Rithvik showcased his exceptional skills at the Laplagne International chess championship in France, clinching a well-deserved silver medal. The ninth seed Rithvik displayed his prowess by scoring seven points from nine rounds and ultimately winning the tie-breaker with Iniyan, GM Prraneeth Vuppala, and IM Dhulipalla Bala Chandra Prasad for the second place. GM Iniyan Panneerselvam secured the bronze in this prestigious tournament.

In another exciting development, young swimmer Shivani Karra made waves at the 9th Telangana sub-junior and junior Inter-district swimming competition. Shivani bagged gold in the 100m backstroke Group 2 and 200m butterfly Group 2 events, showcasing her talent and determination in the pool.

The sporting action continued with Shastri FC’s narrow victory over Deccan Sporting FC in the TFA’s Shiv Kumar Lal B division football league, where Siva Reddy and his team emerged victorious with a 4-3 scoreline. Additionally, Rising Stars Hyderabad dominated the basketball court, with Danny leading the charge with 19 points in their impressive 60-24 win over State Bank of India, Amaravati.
