Kanpur Chess Champions: Ramanuj Mishra and Archita Agarwal Shine in State Level Championship

Kanpur: Ramanuj Mishra of Kanpur and Archita Agarwal of Prayagraj emerged victorious in the Under-15 boys and girls categories, respectively, at the state-level chess championship held at Sunbeam School Balia. The three-day event saw a total of 64 talented chess players competing for the coveted titles.

Representing Kanpur, Ramanuj Mishra clinched the championship title with an impressive 6.5 points, showcasing his exceptional skills on the chessboard. On the other hand, Archita Agarwal from Prayagraj displayed her strategic prowess to secure the top position in the girls’ category.

Among the participants from Kanpur, Riddhima Mishra put up a commendable performance, finishing in fifth place in the girls’ group. The top five players in both the boys’ and girls’ categories were honored with trophies, medals, and cash prizes for their outstanding achievements.

In the boys’ group, Shivansh Sharma secured the 9th position with 5 points, while Arihant Rai Chaudhary claimed the 13th spot. In the girls’ category, Adriti grabbed the 7th place with 3 points, showcasing the fierce competition among the talented young chess players.

The state-level chess championship not only provided a platform for young chess enthusiasts to showcase their skills but also highlighted the growing interest and talent in the game.
