2025 World School Chess Championships in Vrnjacka Banja, Serbia: Registration and Tournament Details
The 2025 World School Chess Championships are set to take place from March 19-29th at the Hotel “Zepter” in Vrnjacka Banja, Serbia. The event, organized by FIDE and the Vrnjacka Banja Municipality, will feature 12 sections including Open and Girls categories for each age group: Under 17, Under 15, Under 13, Under 11, Under 9, and Under 7.
Players must meet age eligibility requirements based on their birthdate, with the youngest category being Under 7 for players born on or after January 1, 2018. The tournament will consist of nine rounds with a time control of Game/90 minutes with a 30-second increment.
Accommodation for participants will be provided at the official hotel, with options for single, double, or triple rooms. Transportation from select airports to the hotel will also be arranged free of charge for players and accompanying persons.
Registration for USA players is open until January 31, 2025, with fees for tournament registration, FIDE entry, and accommodation applicable. A current US Chess membership and a USA-flagged FIDE ID are required for all participants.
While US Chess will facilitate registrations, participants are required to sign a waiver for participation and are advised to check the US State Department’s Travel Advisory website for the latest information on traveling to Serbia.
