Chess Star Obsessed with Serial Killers Allegedly Tries to Poison Rival with Mercury

Russian chess star Amina Abakarova, 40, has been caught on CCTV attempting to poison her younger female rival, Umayganat Osmanova, 30, with mercury during a chess game in Makhachkala, Russia. It has now been revealed that Abakarova has an obsession with books on serial killers, which she often posted about on social media.

Abakarova’s behavior before the game was described as suspicious, as she asked about the cameras recording the game and then proceeded to carry out her plan to poison Osmanova. Eyewitnesses confirmed that Osmanova fell ill and was hospitalized after sitting at the table where the mercury was poured.

After confessing to the act, Abakarova was eliminated from the game and suspended from the Chess Federation in Dagestan, Russia. An investigation has been launched under the charge of ‘inflicting bodily harm.’ Abakarova claimed she wanted revenge on Osmanova for spreading rumors about her and her family.

The Chess Federation in Dagestan condemned Abakarova’s actions, stating that it was far from sporting behavior. Abakarova faces a prison sentence of up to three years if convicted. The case has shocked the chess community and raised questions about the mental state of the players involved.
