SRM Continues Dominance in Collegiate Chess League Fall Season

In an exciting week five of the 2024 Collegiate Chess League (CCL) Fall Season, SRM added another victory to their winning streak, reaching a perfect 5-0 record. The team faced off against Prague and emerged victorious with a commanding 11.5-4.5 scoreline.

GM Pranesh M and IM L R Srihari were the standout performers for SRM, both delivering perfect 4-0 scores to secure the team’s win against Prague. GM Robby Kevlishvili also played a crucial role, going 4/4 to help his team clinch a close match.

On the other side of the leaderboard, Saint Louis University (SLU) secured a crucial victory against Yale, with a final score of 9.5-6.5. The match was closely contested, with both teams showcasing their skills and determination to come out on top.

The CCL standings now see SRM at the top with a flawless record, while Saint Louis University and UT Rio Grande Valley are tied for second place. The competition is heating up as the teams gear up for week six, scheduled for Saturday, November 2, 2024.

In an interview after the match, Kevlishvili acknowledged SRM as their main competition this season and expressed confidence in his team’s ability to perform better in their next encounter.
