Exciting News: 2025 Chess.com Community Championships Announced with $40,000 in Prizes!

The Chess.com Community Championships are back for another exciting year, with even more events and a total of $40,000 in prizes up for grabs! The 2025 cycle kicks off on January 13 with the Chess.com Puzzles Championship, followed by a different variant each month. Whether you’re a seasoned player or just starting out, anyone can join in on the action by becoming a member of the Chess.com Community Club.

One of the new additions to this year’s lineup is Chess.com’s most popular variant, 4-Player Chess. In addition to the variants played in 2024, events will also include the Atomic and 3-Check variants. What’s more, the community will have the opportunity to vote on the variant for the event happening in May, so be sure to stay tuned and cast your vote for your favorite variant.

The Chess.com Community Championships provide a unique opportunity for players to compete in an official prize event and challenge established titled players. Throughout 2024, thousands of players participated in the eight events held between May and December, with GM Andrew Tang emerging as the series’ inaugural winner.

In 2025, most events will follow a similar format to last year, with qualifiers open to all Chess.com members and the winners advancing to a double-elimination knockout Final.
