2024 Champions Chess Tour Concludes with CCT Finals in Oslo, Norway

The 2024 Champions Chess Tour is set to conclude with the highly anticipated CCT Finals, taking place from December 17 to December 21, 2024, at Screen Studios in Oslo, Norway. This event will bring together eight of the world’s best chess players to compete for a $500,000 prize fund and the prestigious title of Champions Chess Tour Champion.

Fans will have the opportunity to witness the intense competition up close by getting tickets to watch the games live in Oslo. This marks the culmination of a year-long journey, during which the top chess players in the world battled it out in the tour’s four online events to qualify for the finals.

The field includes some of the biggest names in chess, such as Magnus Carlsen, Alireza Firouzja, Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Ian Nepomniachtchi, Wesley So, Denis Lazavik, Vincent Keymer, and Levon Aronian.

The format of the tournament will feature a round-robin stage, where the top two finishers will advance directly to the semifinals, while the bottom two will be eliminated. The remaining four players will move on to the survival stage, a double-elimination knockout, with the winners joining the round-robin winners in a four-person final single-elimination knockout to determine the ultimate winner.

The 2024 CCT Finals will also celebrate the 50th anniversary of the iconic Rubik’s Cube, which will be an official partner of the event. Additionally, Take Take Take, the chess app co-founded by Magnus Carlsen, will also be an official partner, aiming to enhance fan engagement and elevate chess to the level of major global sports.

For the first time, the CCT Finals will welcome a live audience, offering fans the chance to experience world-class chess up close. Tickets are available starting at $25 and will come with exclusive perks for attendees.

For those unable to attend in person, every match will be broadcast live on Chess.com/TV, as well as Chess.com’s Twitch and YouTube channels.
