Abuja Set to Host Season 3 of The Genius Chess TV Quiz Show

Abuja, Nigeria – The capital city is gearing up to become a hub of intellectual brilliance as it prepares to host the highly anticipated Season 3 Abuja Edition of The Genius Chess TV Quiz Show on June 29 and 30, 2026. This event is part of a nationwide initiative aimed at promoting chess, creativity, and intellectual growth among children, making it one of Nigeria’s fastest-growing educational entertainment platforms.

Following successful editions in Port Harcourt and Lagos earlier this month, the Abuja event promises to attract a diverse audience, including participants, parents, educators, and chess enthusiasts. The show aims to empower young minds through healthy competition and intellectual development.

Onyedinma Ikechukwu, affectionately known as Mr. Tender Chess, is the visionary founder behind this initiative. Reflecting on the program’s remarkable growth since its inception in 2023, he stated, “Chess is more than a game. It is a powerful educational tool that teaches discipline, patience, creativity, strategic thinking, and effective decision-making. These qualities are essential for raising future leaders and innovators.”

The competition is structured into two main stages. The first stage consists of a General Computer-based Chess Test, assessing participants’ understanding of chess concepts. Those who excel will advance to the Live Show, featuring an Elimination Round and the thrilling 90-Second Spotlight Round, where contestants will showcase their speed and mastery of chess principles before a live audience.

Ikechukwu emphasized the significant impact of the program, noting that it has sparked a growing interest in chess within schools and homes across Nigeria. “Increasing numbers of pupils are expressing interest in participating in the competition and learning the game,” he explained. “Our goal is to nurture a generation equipped with skills that will positively influence their future and society at large.”

With aspirations to expand The Genius Chess TV Quiz Show across Africa, Ikechukwu is optimistic about the future. He believes that the growing popularity of chess and innovative learning models will help realize this vision.

Interested participants, schools, and parents are encouraged to visit the organization’s official social media platforms for registration details and updates about the upcoming event.

As Abuja prepares to host this exciting intellectual competition, The Genius Chess TV Quiz Show continues to solidify its reputation as a transformative platform dedicated to discovering and nurturing the next generation of chess champions, while promoting excellence, innovation, and lifelong learning among young Africans.
