In an exciting development for young chess enthusiasts, The Genius Chess TV Quiz Show has announced its national expansion following a successful run across Nigeria. This innovative educational entertainment platform, dedicated to fostering creativity and intellectual growth among children, has captivated audiences and participants alike since its inception in 2023.

Airing on YouTube through Tender Chess TV, the show combines learning with competition in a unique format that nurtures critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and strategic reasoning. Onyedinma Ikechukwu, affectionately known as Mr. Tender Chess and the show’s founder, shared insights into the program’s transformative journey. “The competition challenges participants to solve chess puzzles using digital tablets within specified time limits, creating an engaging environment that blends technology, education, and entertainment,” he explained.

The Genius Chess TV Quiz Show consists of two major stages: The General CBT Chess Test and the Live Show, which features both an Elimination Round and a thrilling 90-Second Spotlight Round. Since its launch, four successful episodes have been conducted across two seasons, with the show currently in its third season and gearing up for a national expansion that will include major cities like Port Harcourt, Lagos, and Abuja.

Reflecting on the impact of the program, Ikechukwu noted, “We have witnessed how the programme has transformed the lives of participants. Chess is now being taken more seriously in schools and homes, with increasing numbers of pupils expressing interest in becoming part of the quiz show.” This surge in interest underscores the initiative’s mission to promote chess education among school children and develop future leaders equipped with essential life skills.

Ikechukwu’s vision for The Genius Chess TV Quiz Show is ambitious yet attainable. “We envision it becoming Africa’s leading educational entertainment platform. With the growing popularity of chess globally, we believe this vision is not only possible but inevitable,” he stated.

As part of its expansion strategy, the organization recently concluded the Season 3 Port Harcourt Edition Grand Finale on June 12, 2026. Upcoming events include the Season 3 Lagos Edition from June 18–22, 2026, and the Season 3 Abuja Edition on June 29–30, 2026.

Ikechukwu encourages interested participants, schools, parents, and chess enthusiasts to visit the organization’s official social media platforms for registration details and updates on upcoming editions. “Through its innovative combination of education, technology, competition, and entertainment, The Genius Chess TV Quiz Show continues to position itself as a transformative platform dedicated to discovering, nurturing, and celebrating the next generation of chess talents across Nigeria and, ultimately, Africa,” he added.
