2025 World Youth and World Cadet Chess Championships Official U.S. Representatives Announced

US Chess Announces Official Invitations for 2025 World Youth and World Cadet Chess Championships

US Chess has revealed the list of players who have been officially invited to participate in the upcoming 2025 World Youth and World Cadet Chess Championships. These talented students have earned this prestigious honor by meeting the peak post-tournament (PPT) rating and activity criteria in their respective age and gender categories.

The top players in each age category, based on PPT rating, are designated as the United States Official Representatives (OR) by FIDE, the World Chess Federation. However, all USA players have the opportunity to compete in these events as part of the US Chess delegation. Additionally, players may qualify as Personal Rights (PR) players, subject to the regulations set by the organizers.

While specific details about the 2025 World Youth and World Cadet Chess Championships are currently unavailable, it has been confirmed that if held, the events will take place in Durres, Albania for the 2025 World Youth. Participants should note that these tournaments are open to all US Chess members who meet the age and eligibility requirements, but they will be responsible for covering all financial obligations associated with their participation. The age of a player for these tournaments is determined by their age as of January 1, 2025.

For the latest updates on international youth events, interested individuals can visit the US Chess website. Any inquiries regarding these events can be directed to Brian Yang, FIDE Events Manager.

Congratulations to the talented players who have been invited to represent the United States at the 2025 World Youth and World Cadet Chess Championships. The list of invited players, including the Official U.S. Representatives, has been published on the US Chess website.

Stay tuned for more information as the events draw closer.
